WELCOME! I'm so glad that you're visiting my website. I'm an artist living and working in Marlborough, Massachusetts. My painting style could be termed abstract impressionism, portraying real life subjects through simplification and abstraction. My paintings focus on interpretations of gardens, landscapes, still life objects and people. Rather than trying to capture reality, I modify reality to tell a different story. I want to create motion and a sense of freedom in my work, as well as a lightness and sometimes, whimsy.

At times I feel the need to use intense color, as if I’ve been “color starved.” I want the painting to make a clear and decisive statement. Using vivid color that almost shouts at me is very satisfying. At other times I use muted colors to see if they can “talk to me” in the same way that bolder colors do. For this reason, I have paintings that almost vibrate with color and others that seem to draw back and whisper. I delight in creating both types of work, and hope to share that delight with others.
